The Fountain of the Four Rivers is located in Piazza Navona – Rome.The fountain was designed by Gian Lorenzo Bernini for Pope Innocent X. Is composed by a big basin in the centre with rocks in travertine, to support the four river gods and an ancient obelisk. The four major rivers of the four continents where the papal authority had spread are: Nile represent (Africa), Danube (Europe), The Gange (Asia) and Rio de la Plata (Americas).
